Dean F. Bartolone, P.E. BSME & MSME, University of Illinois President

After graduating from the University of Illinois with his BS degree, Dean started his career at Hyster Company working in their special products engineering group designing optional custom features for forklift trucks. He left Hyster to complete his MS degree full time and then spent several years at Hendrickson International in their truck suspension group developing heavy duty truck suspension product. In 1994 he joined Granning Air Suspensions, now Tuthill Transport Technologies. During his time as their Engineering Manager, he oversaw the pioneering development of independent front suspensions for motorhome chassis along with generating several patents. He also held various other management positions within Tuthill such as Director of Engineering and Director of Powered Vehicle Suspension Systems. In 2004 he joined LiquidSpring LLC as its President where he will utilize his broad based experience in bringing truck suspension systems to the marketplace to commercialize the revolutionary liquid spring technology.

After graduating from the University of Illinois, Dave began his career at General Dynamics, Land Systems Division, as a suspension engineer for military vehicles. While at General Dynamics, he designed and tested tracked vehicle suspension system improvements for various tanks currently used by the US military. In 1993 he joined Arvin (Gabriel) Ride Control Products where he worked on the application and development of shock absorbers/struts for Ford OEM vehicles. He also pursued his MS degree during his employment with Arvin. In 1995 he became a Project Engineer at Granning Air Suspensions, now Tuthill Transport Technologies. During his employment at Tuthill, he was responsible for the design and development of medium and heavy duty truck air ride suspensions including a number of independent front suspensions for motor homes. He was appointed Engineering Manager at Tuthill in 2001 and oversaw all engineering activities associated with the company’s truck/coach based suspension products. In 2004 he joined LiquidSpring LLC as its Director of Engineering and is responsible for the company’s engineering activities to develop heavy vehicle suspension products utilizing liquid spring technology.

Tony joined LiquidSpring LLC in late 2005 in his current position to oversee the company's manufacturing operations. Tony has an extensive background in lean manufacturing methods which will be the core basis for the company's manufacturing processes. Prior to getting involved in manufacturing he spent several years as a Project Engineer designing drive systems for ground vehicles and as a Product Designer designing electrical test and robotic equipment. His product design experience combined with his manufacturing background will provide optimized designs for manufacturabilty.

Embedded Controls Engineer

Richard has studied and has experience in developing embedded controls for vehicle applications. He continues company efforts to develop Compressible Liquid Adaptive Suspension System or CLASS® electronic architectures and vehicle control algorithms as one of the company’s core technologies and supports the integration of CLASS® product in various vehicle platforms. He also works on the development of hardware and software simulation tools to model and validate CLASS® technologies. Richard is an Officer in the US Army Reserves, has a degree in business, and is an avid car enthusiast.

Richard has been involved with liquid spring technology since its inception. The first commercial applications of liquid springs were in large off-highway mining trucks. In 1993 he formed LiquidSpring Technologies, Inc. with the primary purpose of developing the liquid spring technology for on-highway suspension applications. Under his management the company has develop the Compressible Liquid Adaptive Suspension System or CLASS® for on-highway vehicle applications. The company has developed several CLASS® product light and medium duty truck applications.

Gary has spent over 12 years designing and developing vehicle systems with broad experience in mechanical and hydraulic systems engineering along with CAD. In late 2005 he was promoted to his current position after 8 years as a Design Engineer at LiquidSpring Technologies, Inc., working on system designs that pioneered the effort to develop the Compressible Liquid Adaptive Suspension System or CLASS® for on-highway vehicle application.
Peter Schmid Engineering Physics, Queen’s University Design Engineer

After graduating, Peter worked briefly for Atomic Energy of Canada, before taking a position with LST as a Design Engineer. He is currently responsible for the simulation and modeling of the CLASS system, and uses the results to design components. Peter is a former gymnast and coach with the Canadian National Gymnastics Team, having competed in over 5 World Championships.
